I am a fan of what could be described as “cross section art”。 You get a picture of a vehicle; car， train， airplane， X-Wing， Millennium Falcon， what have you， and a cross section is done to show various parts and how they work。 One of my all time favorite pictures was of the RMS Titanic， what a glorious piece of art！Well， being the Star Wars geek that I am， when I saw this book of cross section art of all of the vehicles from the Star Wars franchise， I knew I had to get it。 I have to be the first I am a fan of what could be described as “cross section art”。 You get a picture of a vehicle; car， train， airplane， X-Wing， Millennium Falcon， what have you， and a cross section is done to show various parts and how they work。 One of my all time favorite pictures was of the RMS Titanic， what a glorious piece of art！Well， being the Star Wars geek that I am， when I saw this book of cross section art of all of the vehicles from the Star Wars franchise， I knew I had to get it。 I have to be the first to admit that I am not disappointed with this book at all。Form starters， this book is physically big。 I would classify it as a “coffee table” book。 It is also a heavy book， printed on heavy stock paper。 I was much more comfortable letting this book rest on a table as I looked through it。 The art in this book is superb。 The cross sections show the scale in terms of the size of the character， a lot of times in the pilot seat， to the vehicle。 And the cross sections are perfect pieces of art in themselves。This book has everything from an X-Wing， to a TIE Fighter， to the Millennium Falcon， to Rey’s vehicle in “The Force Awakens”。 Remember the submarine in “The Phantom Menace”？ It’s there！ Lando Calrissian’s version of the Millennium Falcon is there。 Poe Dameron’s X-wing is here。 Luke Skywalker’s Land Speeder。 IT IS ALL HERE！！！This book is a must get for any Star Wars fan！I give this 5 very enthusiastic bookmarks out of 5！！！ 。。。more

Das Buch "Star Wars: Raumschiffe und Fahrzeuge" wurde vom Dorling Kindersley Verlag neu aufgelegt。 Am Zustand der älteren Version wird ersichtlich， dass dieses Buch von unseren Kindern sehr ausgiebig genutzt wurde und vielleicht schon deshalb die Neuauflage Sinn macht。 Wir blicken in beide Bücher und beleuchten die Unterschiede und stellen die Frage， ob die Neuauflage lohnenswert ist （auch für diejenigen， deren Ausgabe nicht ganz so abgegriffen aussieht）。### Was gleich bleibt ###Die ersten knapp Das Buch "Star Wars: Raumschiffe und Fahrzeuge" wurde vom Dorling Kindersley Verlag neu aufgelegt。 Am Zustand der älteren Version wird ersichtlich， dass dieses Buch von unseren Kindern sehr ausgiebig genutzt wurde und vielleicht schon deshalb die Neuauflage Sinn macht。 Wir blicken in beide Bücher und beleuchten die Unterschiede und stellen die Frage， ob die Neuauflage lohnenswert ist （auch für diejenigen， deren Ausgabe nicht ganz so abgegriffen aussieht）。### Was gleich bleibt ###Die ersten knapp 180 Seiten bleiben mehr oder minder gleich。 Es wurden hin und wieder Abbildungen von Filmszenen gegen Infokästen getauscht， aber die eigentlichen Zeichnungen der jeweiligen Fahrzeuge sind gleich geblieben。Es werden weiterhin viele Fahrzeuge und Raumschiffe im Schnittmodell gezeigt und mit vielen technischen Details versehen。 Die Texte zu den Fahrzeugen sind grundsätzlich gleich geblieben （von den hinzugefügten Infokästen abgesehen）。 Um neue Fahrzeuge ergänzt wurden diese Kapitel nicht， sondern lediglich in der Optik angepasst。### Was wegfällt ###Das Markanteste， was in der Neuauflage wegfällt， sind die Panorama-Bilder bzw。 Aufklapp-Seiten。 Die Abbildungen in der Neuauflage sind zwar gleichgeblieben， werden aber nun um eine Seite herumgebrochen， so dass man umblättern muss， um das gesamte Raumschiff zu sehen。 Es ist sehr schade， dass gerade dieses Feature weggefallen ist， denn so kamen die Raumschiffe erst richtig zur Geltung und es gab unglaublich viele Details zu entdecken。Was ebenso wegfiel sind zahlreiche Fotos aus den Filmen， die gegen neue Infokästen ersetzt wurden。 Warum dies gemacht wurde erschließt sich mir nicht， fällt aber meines Erachtens nicht negativ ins Gewicht。### Was neu ist ###Seit der Veröffentlichung der alten Auflage sind die neuen Star Wars Filme in den Kinos gelaufen。 Natürlich konnten die Fahrzeuge aus diesen Filmen noch nicht gezeigt werden。 Das wird mit der Neuauflage nachgeholt。 Auf gut 70 Seiten werden die neuen Fahrzeuge aus den neuen Filmen gezeigt， darunter z。B。 die Finalizer oder Reys Gleiter。Gerade bei der Darstellung der Finalizer fällt es sehr negativ auf， dass die Aufklappseiten fehlen， denn dieses gigantische Raumschiff wurde über mehrere Seiten wieder sehr gut dargestellt。 Das gilt auch für die anderen Fahrzeuge， die dem Stil des gesamten Buchs entsprechend dargestellt wurden， aber dennoch einen Touch moderner und zeitgemäßer erscheinen。### Was fehlt ###Was nicht hinzugefügt wurde， sind Raumschiffe und Fahrzeuge aus den Star Wars Stories， also den "zwischengeschobenen" Filmen wie "Rougue One" oder "Solo"。 Beide Bücher konzentrieren sich auf Fahrzeuge aus den neun Kinofilmen。### Fazit ###Man kann es drehen und wenden wir man möchte， Star Wars übt auch heute noch eine unglaubliche Faszination über viele Generationen aus。 Dazu gehören natürlich auch die Fahrzeuge und Raumschiffe der Filme， die in dieser Neuauflage sehr gut dargestellt sind。 Es gibt sehr viel zu entdecken und der Leser wird mit zahlreichen Informationen zu den Schiffen versorgt。 Jeder， der Star Wars mag， wird sich mit Genuss durch die Seiten blättern。### Lohnt sich die Neuauflage？ ###Auch wenn es sehr schade ist， dass die Aufklappseiten weggefallen sind， so rechtfertigt die Neuauflage mit den zahlreichen neuen Fahrzeugen und Raumschiffen durchaus einen Kauf。 Ja， das erste Drittel des Buchs ist nahezu gleich geblieben und wurde lediglich modernisiert und ja， es fehlen ein paar Fahrzeuge aus den neuen Filmen und den Star Wars Stories。 Aber dennoch macht es Spaß， die Details der neu hinzugefügten Fahrzeuge aus der neusten Trilogie zu erkunden。Übrigens: Dieses Buch ist keine umfängliche Enzyklopädie aller Fahrzeuge！ Wer so etwas sucht， sollte zum "Star Wars Lexikon der Fahrzeuge und Raumschiffe" greifen。 。。。more
